Chemical Peel
Who Is a Good Candidate For a Chemical Peel?
Our medical spa offers free aesthetics consults. Generally, fair-skinned and light-haired patients are better candidates for chemical peels. If you have darker skin, you may also have good results, depending upon the type of problem being treated. But you also may be more likely to have an uneven skin tone after the procedure. Skin sags, bulges, and more severe wrinkles do not respond well to chemical peels. They may need other kinds of cosmetic surgical procedures, such as laser resurfacing, a facelift, brow lift, eyelid lift, or soft tissue filler (collagen or fat). Radiant does also offer laser resurfacing and filler injections.
Patient Experience
The patient is pampered and treated to a relaxing beautification process during a chemical peel. Our patients can obtain a chemical peel through topical or laser treatments. For the topical chemical peel we cleanse the face and then apply the topical solution to help rid dead skin cells. Afterwards, the skin produces new skin cells that are fresh, hydrated, and are less wrinkled that the old skin. The laser is similar but no topicals are involved. It is simply a specialized laser that helps to rid the top layer of the stratus corneum.
Post Care
Sunscreen is a must because of the increased sensitivity to the sun after a chemical peel, so SUNSCREEN is a MUST. Sunscreen should be broad-spectrum to cover both UVA and UVB rays. Look for SPF 30 or above. Avoid overexposure to sun, especially during the peak hours of 10am to 2pm. Consider wearing a hat! Please check our product selection to find the best sun protection for you and your family.
